The oldest of these are extremely rare, dating back to the early 19th century. Some come from grape varieties that disappeared in the 1870s, when phylloxera devastated many of Cognac's precious vineyards. Inga Sempé designed and created Richard Hennessy's exquisite hard case and bottle. Member of the Villa Médicis in Rome and winner of the Grand Prix de la Création de design de Paris, she has worked with the best and most renowned designers and her talent in design is recognized worldwide.

Each bottle is unique, numbered and carved. The attractive shape is made from pure Baccarat crystal, hand-blown by the most skilled glassblowers. Each piece is worked by a "Master Craftsman" engraver.

Made from the finest ash trees, the hard case requires 30 hours of work and is covered in 14 coats of lacquer. Surrounded by a cloak of majesty and sheltered in a dark hole, it shines like a diamond and is crowned with a silver stopper.
