The pioneering search for the effects of wood selection on whiskey maturation is exemplary in Nectar D'Òr, where mature Glenmorangie is transferred from its American bourbon casks to exquisite Sauternes wine casks where it is extra matured. Òr means gold in Gaelic and French, while "Nectar" is the drink of the Gods.
Toasted oak and vanilla are intricately woven with honey, lemon and spices to create a sumptuous blend of aromas, a silky texture and a long, light finish. It is important to note that Nectar D`Òr is not filtered and is bottled at 46% alcohol, which adds body, flavor and texture to the liquor.
