Ribera del Duero is one of the most highly regarded wine regions in Spain. Located on the banks of the Duero River in Castile and León, the continental climate, with dry summers and long winters, favors the slow ripening of the grapes. Tinta del País, or Tinto Fino, also known as Tempranillo, is responsible for giving structure, aroma, and color to the red wines of Ribera del Duero. The predominant white grape is Albillo Mayor, although most of the production focuses on red wines. The vineyards located between 700 and 1100 meters above sea level witnessed a winemaking revolution begin in the 1970s, with new styles and techniques that culminated in the approval of the DO (Denomination of Origin) in 1982. Since then, the vineyards have grown exponentially, gaining a worldwide reputation. Ribera del Duero represents an enormous historical and winemaking heritage, offering us wonderful moments accompanied by its extraordinary wines.
