The Cardhu distillery was established in 1824 by John Cumming and in more than 180 years it has managed to capture all the essence of Speyside now Pure Malt. The distilleries from which Cardhu is born follow the purest Speyside tradition and take advantage of its exceptional quality raw materials. The choicest barley, spring water and Moorland peat.
With the utmost care, they monitor the fermentation in wooden vats, then watch as the whiskey slides through traditional copper swan-neck stills.
Finally, after these select malt whiskeys have rested for 12 years in specially selected oak barrels, Cardhu Pure Malt is born.
