The aperitif is a sweet and sour interpretation of the classic "red bitter", but with more character. They infuse 17 fresh and dried organic botanicals such as gentian, kola nut, hibiscus and rhubarb root in non-GMO grain neutral liquor for two weeks. At that point, they add water and fresh orange peels (2 oranges per bottle!) and let it sit overnight. They strain and filter the resulting tincture and add organic cane sugar and cochineal to achieve the ruby hue we all love.

Faccia Brutto, founded by Patrick Miller, a former chef with 14 years of restaurant experience, is known for its delicious, natural Italian liqueurs. Miller makes these spirits in Brooklyn following traditional methods and using sustainable botanical sources. Despite the grammatically incorrect name, Miller embraces the playful aspect of it.
