Napa Valley Merlot opens with expressive aromas of cherry, blueberry, cranberry, red currant, with hints of brown butter, cedar, white pepper, and green tea. This medium-bodied wine enters with soft, lush, sweet fruit and finishes with flavors of berries, baked fruit, sweet tobacco, flint, and toasted oak.

THE VINTAGE
The 2021 growing season was characterized by low rainfall as part of a multi year drought. Lovely warm, dry spring conditions, early budbreak, warm summer, no heat extremes provided lower yields – smaller berries in smaller clusters. Harvest season was dry and fairly even, allowing for good fruit and color development. Our harvest for reds began in late-September and was completed by late-October, so a pretty compact 30 day red harvest.
