Nose: Ripe black fruit (blackberry, blueberry, plum), sweet spices (vanilla, cinnamon), toasted notes, cocoa, cedar, tobacco, leather, licorice, balsamic notes, and a mineral background.
Palate: Powerful yet balanced, silky, with firm and fine tannins, concentrated fruit, spicy and mineral notes, and a long, persistent finish.
Aging: 28 months in American and French oak barrels (some sources mention American oak, others French, but the aging time is consistent).
Food Pairing and Recommendations: Perfect for stews, roasted red meats (lamb), game, and aged cheeses.
Decanting 1 hour before serving is recommended to open up its aromas.

Pesquera Janus 2018 is a Gran Reserva red wine from Bodega Pesquera (Fernández Rivera Family) in Ribera del Duero, made from 100% Tempranillo grapes from the La Rendeja vineyard. It stands out for being a powerful and elegant wine, with abundant ripe black fruit (blackberry, plum), aging notes (vanilla, cocoa, spices, cedar, tobacco), and a long, mineral finish. It boasts a great balance between intensity and finesse, making it ideal for red meats and aged cheeses. It is only produced in exceptional vintages such as 2018, which was rated "Very Good."

Janus: The two-faced Roman god, looking to the past and the future, symbolizing the winery's tradition and modernity. Limited Production: It is only produced in vintages that the winery considers exceptional, such as this one from 2018
