Time makes sense with Matarromera Gran Reserva Ribera del Duero. A total of 24 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by 36 months in the bottle, are necessary for the birth of this oenological gem. Matarromera Gran Reserva lives up to its name, it is a red wine made with care from our own Tempranillo vineyards in the Duero Valley, between Olivares and Valbuena de Duero.

PAIRING: Matarromera Gran Reserva is a very versatile wine, it is ideal to accompany pasta, legumes, sausages, cheese and pâtés. Even red meats like this grilled Ribeye. Strong flavours and top quality raw materials are the basic ingredients for a good pairing of this Gran Reserva from the Ribera del Duero.
It is made from grapes grown in a legendary area of Ribera del Duero: Valbuena de Duero. It was aged for a long time for 36 months in oak barrels, followed by two more years of rest in the bottle.
Because this red wine is not released onto the market until 6 or 7 years after it was harvested. For this reason alone, the experience is already different. But, despite the passage of time, Matarromera Gran Reserva, made in the Ribera del Duero, is a wine that has been modernised thanks to the elegance provided by its ageing in predominantly French barrels of the highest quality and the roundness given by the bottle.
THE VINEYARD: San Román is one of the most emblematic vineyards in Matarromera and surrounds the Winery in the municipality of Valbuena de Duero, on a steep limestone slope above the Duero River. The Finca de las Celadillas is located in Olivares de Duero, also very close to the Winery. Both with traditional Tempranillo strains that give rise to Matarromera Gran Reserva.
