The blend is composed of 30% malted barley and 70% grain whisky. Aged for 3 years in ex-bourbon barrels, Akashi Blended expresses a rich and deep aromatic profile marked by notes of oak and vanilla on the nose, joined on the palate by woody and spicy aromas.
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Golden yellow.
Nose: Light and delicate aromas, notes of cereals, aromas and nuances of tropical fruits with honey.
Palate: Smooth, intense, and slightly spicy flavor, reminiscent of the olfactory aromas and flavors of vanilla, almond, chamomile, sherry, and dark chocolate.
Finish: Long, dry, spicy, and tannic.
Pairs well with: Seafood – Red meats – Grilled vegetables.

Eigashima Shuzo is one of Japan’s oldest family-run distilleries with 100 years of whiskey-making experience. Established in 1679, Eigashima was once considered among the top 100 corporations of the Meiji era of Japan.
Eigashima has been making sake and shochu with traditional Japanese craftsmanship since 1888, and as the first distillery to obtain a license to make whiskey in Japan in 1919, it is a true pioneer in its field. Known for its clean air and water, the city of Akashi is located in close proximity to Kobe and is the only distillery in Japan situated closely to the sea.
