Akashi Single Malt Japanese Whisky is a refined expression from the White Oak Distillery (Eigashima Shuzo), located in the coastal city of Akashi, Japan. Made with 100% malted barley and lightly peated, this single malt is aged for 5 to 8 years in a combination of ex-bourbon, sherry, shochu, and new oak casks, giving it a unique complexity and a distinctive flavor profile.
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Golden amber color.
Nose: Delicate fruity aroma with prominent notes of apple.
Palate: Pleasant bitterness, full-bodied depth, spices, peaty character, and a touch of anise and candied ginger.
Pair with: Nuts – Chocolate – Fresh fruit – Grilled red meats – Lamb chops – Sushi – Sashimi – Apple pie.

Eigashima Shuzo is one of Japan’s oldest family-run distilleries with 100 years of whiskey-making experience. Established in 1679, Eigashima was once considered among the top 100 corporations of the Meiji era of Japan.
Eigashima has been making sake and shochu with traditional Japanese craftsmanship since 1888, and as the first distillery to obtain a license to make whiskey in Japan in 1919, it is a true pioneer in its field. Known for its clean air and water, the city of Akashi is located in close proximity to Kobe and is the only distillery in Japan situated closely to the sea.
