Tasting Notes

Appearance: Bright golden yellow, with greenish or amber hues depending on the vintage.

Nose: Intense and complex. Aromas of stone fruits (peach, apricot), ripe citrus, honey, white flowers, and a herbal touch are evident. The aging process provides notes of toast, nuts, and beeswax.

Palm:Full-bodied, fresh, but with a creamy texture. Balanced acidity supports the rich fruitiness. Flavors of honey, almonds, ripe lemon, and subtle minerality are perceived. A long, elegant, and persistent finish.

Producer: Aleanna Winery (Nicolás Catena and Alejandro Vigil).

Region: Mendoza, Argentina (mainly old vineyards in Agrelo and Uco Valley).

Varietal: 100% Semillon (in some years, small contributions of Sauvignon Blanc).

Special Features: Comes from old vineyards (planted in the 1950s and 1960s). Vinified with skin contact and barrel aging, which gives it complexity and a unique texture, moving away from the style of light whites.

Alcohol: Generally between 12.5% and 13.5% vol., depending on the vintage.

Serving Temperature: Ideal between 8°C and 10°C (slightly cooler than an aged Chardonnay, but not as cold as a young Sauvignon Blanc).

Food Pairing

El Enemigo Semillon is very versatile thanks to its acidity and complexity:

- Seafood and fish: oysters, grilled prawns, ceviche, baked whitefish.

- Asian cuisine: sushi, sashimi, dishes with ginger, or mild curries.

- White meats: chicken with herbs, turkey, glazed pork.

- Cheeses: Brie, Camembert, Gruyère, and goat cheeses.

- Dishes with creamy sauces: pasta with seafood sauce or mushroom risottos.

- Gourmet options: foie gras, dishes with white truffles, or wild mushrooms.

El Enemigo Semillón is a premium Argentine white wine distinguished by its complex and gastronomic style, comparable to the great whites of Bordeaux and South Africa. A wine for those seeking whites with structure, longevity, and depth.
