The production of Delamotte Rosé Champagne has something exotic, something unique. It is made using the traditional maceration method, uncommon in Champagne.
This method involves extracting color and aromas from the grape skins. How? By allowing them to macerate before and/or during fermentation. The maceration method lends elegance and structure to the wine, made with Pinot Noir grapes from the best southeast-facing plots in the Montagne de Reims—Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Tours-sur-Marne—and Chardonnay from Mesnil-sur-Oger. Beneath its salmon-pink hue lies a wine of surprising complexity. Between bottling and disgorgement, Delamotte Rosé spends two years in contact with the lees.
A great Champagne is, first and foremost, a great wine. This idea is one of the core principles of the House of Delamotte, founded in 1760 and located in Mesnil-sur-Oger. Delamotte is one of the five oldest houses in the Champagne region because we respect tradition, work to enhance flavor, and craft our wines in the heart of the legendary Côte des Blancs.
