Petrus wines seem to deserve all the superlatives attributed to them and the almost mystical devotion of wine aficionados. It is a unique wine, the most concentrated and richest from Pomerol. However, despite its power, the secret of Petrus's greatness lies in its remarkable balance and penetrating aroma that differentiate it, not only from the rest of Pomerols, but also from other wines.
Medium to deep garnet purple in color, it reveals crushed black cherries, plums, blackberries and cedar with hints of anise, lavender, thyme and scree. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with lush layers of blue, black and perfumed fruits that contrast with very ripe, very fine tannins that end in a long and mineral finish.
